Trip to CA with Grandma & Grandpa W.: Legoland

Going to Legoland was a dream come true for Senn, Gavin, and Le.  They have longed to go for a very long time, plus being Lego enthusiasts (lol), they were super excited.  To top it all off, you should have heard their squeals of delight when we shared with them that Grandma and Grandpa generously decided to stay at the Legoland Hotel too.  It was all they had hoped plus more.  It was seriously a super fun stop for the kids.

These are out of order and I am too lazy to go back and reload them.  This was our second day at Legoland.  We had sea life passes.  This is the outside of the Legoland hotel.  Grandpa, Grandma, Gavin, Senn, Mom with Le

This is what the entrance looks like.  Being a Lego happy family, this was such a cool place to go.

I still can't get over how cute our Legoland tees turned out for everyone.  Maybe if I have a few minutes I can put up a simple, simple tutorial for all these tees.

Le (floor), Ship and Dad in the kids section of our room.  I was SUPER IMPRESSED with this hotel.  I feel like they thought of everything: motion sensor night lights in the rooms, an extra toilet seat (for a smaller "hole" to sit on for little kids), a stepping stool in the bathroom, the buffet with super kid friendly foods and even at kid height, plus super fun decor.  It just was so well done.

Speaking of kid friendly: there is a disco ball in the elevator.  As the doors close and the elevator starts moving, disco music starts playing and the ball glows.  Super fun way to travel floors.

Here are a few pictures of the fun decorations in the dinning area.

Plus a jester who made balloons at breakfast.

It was a super rainy day.  They ended up closing all the outdoor rides shortly after we arrived and then completely closed down the entire park. The kids were bummed, but there was good news. 1. the Legoland hotel is pretty amazingly entertaining of a place for kids.  2. they give a rainy day promise (AKA we have free tickets to go back within a year).

Instead of a ball pit, they had a brick pit.  We seriously stayed put in the lobby for a few hours (on a few separate sittings)

Dad and Ship found Dad's lego face

Ship's view out the window

This shows two things: 1. look at all the people leaving the park via the hotel in their rain ponchos.  2.  there was a super cool pirate ship/castle play area for kids.

Leland considering exchanging his mini figure.  (You can purchase or even bring your own mini figure from home.  The employees have them attached to their badge.  If you ask to exchange figures then they are suppose to.  They also have display boxes with figures at different places in the park).

Gavin's face cracks me up.

Gavin, Senn, Mom, and Le (with Grandpa behind).  Because of the rain, they opened up a master builder class.  The kids were anxious for me to join, but they say I am the only one in the family who isn't a master builder yet.  It's true...even Ship builds better than me.  I have great salesmanship though.  This class was just putting together a free small lego set that they were able to keep.  They were happy for the Legos, but disappointed that I still don't have their skills.
