How YOU Can Help!

Ready to hit the pool at our hotel
At this point, we are seeking a private adoption---which means we work with a social worker and attorneys through the adoption process (no adoption agency involved).  It is extremely awkward and vulnerable to ask, but we can't do this without you!  If you feel we are worthy candidates in your eyes, even if you don't know us personally, then the biggest help you can give us is to please SHARE, SHARE, SHARE this blog or the movie clip of our family. Please share it on social media platforms. Please help us share it with those you may come in contact with. You just never know who in your circle of influence may be facing this tough decision and looking for a family like ours. A birth family is more likely to place when there is someone who connects them to the adoptive family, even if it is through a distant common acquaintance.  We can't do this without you! Thank you! <3

Our prayer and confidence is that our story will reach birth moms and birth families who may need to hear it...that there is hope...that God has a bigger plan...that the heartache an Expectant Mom or family may be facing with the prospect of a pregnancy and baby at this time is not in vain.  If not our family and baby, at least it may reach a mother who may take courage to grant life and look for a willing family like ours. With loud voices advocating for abortion, Expectant Moms need to know that countless couples are hoping to add to their family through adoption.

If sharing seems like it's too much to ask, we would appreciate you leaving a comment below.  Write what you feel would be helpful for a prospective birth family in deciding if this is a good fit. Thank you for doing this for us! <3

Here are a few questions to get you started and maybe to consider including your comment:

~How do you know us (or the family member you are commenting about)?
~How long have you known us?
~What strikes you most about us?
~Maybe a favorite memory or funny story.
~Do you specifically have experience with us as parents (i.e.-observed us sweat through church:) or interacting with our kids or worked with our kids and have something that struck you, etc?)
~Why would you feel comfortable allowing us to raise your own child?

If it is asking too much to share our blog or video clip or to leave a comment, you can pray for our family to be sustained through this and have the miracles we need to make these hopes possible. We feel like we have only dipped our big toe into the world of adoption, but adoption is just as difficult emotionally (if not more difficult) as our high-risk pregnancies and miscarriages have been. It can feel easy to want to give up and walk away from our hopes. Thank you for praying for us through this! <3

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!!! <3 <3 <3 We can't do this without your help, love, and support!

  1. This family is truly amazing. We had the great pleasure to get to know them while we lived near them. I came a crossed Katy's blog one day as I was searching the Internet for some comfort. We had recently lost our 1st baby due to a miscarriage and it hit us both hard. We had only been married a few months when it happened and we were devistated.
Katy offered to have us over so we could talk and it was truly a blessing. Watching her and Mark interact with their children was amazing. After all the loss they themselves had been through and yet they still found joy and happiness in the experiences they had had. They are an amazing couple and family. They will never know how much they helped us and we are eternally grateful.
We hope that we can raise our own little family to have children thrive as much as their children do. We love them so much and pray they will continue to be able to add children to their sweet family.

  2. Katy is my older sister so I've known her my whole life. Katy always has had a mothering personality. Even as a kid herself, she was often mothering and caring for the rest of us.

Katy and Mark love their children and truly strive to be the best parents possible to each individual child. You can tell that they understand that each of their children has different strengths, weaknesses and needs and they tailor their parenting to each child.

They really have so much love to give!!!

  3. This is beautiful family who know how play together and work together. They know how to work through hard things, and show each other through so many kind and selfless act how much they love one another. Katie is one of the most loving, nurturing mothers I know, and she and Mark would be able to give a child a truly blessed home where they would thrive and grow, and feel loved and accepted. Any child would be truly blessed to be part of this loving, Christlike family!!

  5. The thing I like most about Mark and Katy is that they are authentic. What you see is what you get. They are exactly as they have described themselves. I have been privileged to witness them work through some of their greatest challenges and watched them stengthen and rise above those difficulties. They are very devoted to each other and their children. I have also had the privilege of being in their home for an extended period of time and watch how they work with their children. It is impressive to see them direct each child and help them to work through and solve problems. Any child would be blessed to have the privilege of being raised in this family

  6. Mark and I have known each other for several years. We talk on average about twice a week. I've always been impressed with his ability to look at a situation, clear away all of the extraneous stuff, and find the central issue. He is very insightful. And I've appreciated his willingness to share his ideas with me. Mark is naturally friendly and quickly able to develop a rapport with those around him. He's not impulsive and doesn't move forward without having considered many options and feels good about a plan. I trust Mark. He’s a conscientious husband and dad. I definitely support his desire to adopt.

  7. Katy is my older sister. She has always been a very vibrant individual with so much enthusiasm for life. Growing up, I will always remember Katy as the one who always tried to take care of everyone. I am also continually inspired by her year after year. Her faith in God is astounding and her kind heart is just as admirable. I remember that I once called her my angel when I was about 10 and she continues to be an angel to me.

Katy and Mark love their children and strive so hard to meet each of their children's needs. The love that they lavish on each individual child is so selfless and inspiring in a very special way.

I love these people so much!!

  8. I have known Mark for a few years now and he is a great friend. He is someone that helps support me in the struggles that I go through. Mark is really great at listening to me and my needs and I feel his love and compassion.

When I see Mark with his friends and family I see this same love and compassion with them as well. I've had the opportunity to spend time with Mark's family and they are great. Katy is a great mom and she has a loving heart. Their kids are really fun to be around as well.

This is a great family and I have no doubt that an adopted child would feel loved and respected.

  9. Oh how I love this family! I don't think you could ever meet a family as vulnerable, open, kind-hearted, genuine and/ or service oriented. Their motivation for parenting is love and their joy is contagious. Katy is my dear friend and I can recommend her as a loving mother who is in tune with her children's needs, wants, and desires. This I can guarantee: any child who joins this family will be treasured, loved and deeply cared for.
